Youth Female Athlete Performance

Building Strong, Confident Athletes

A female soccer player in a blue jersey with the number 15 on the back and wearing a pink headband, is performing a kick during a match, with a colorful soccer ball in the air beside her.

Strength training is one of the most valuable tools a young female athlete can have. It is not just for improving performance, but for building confidence, reducing injury risk, and creating healthy habits that last a lifetime.

At Lumen Performance Studio, I provide small-group and individualized strength training for middle school and high school girls in a welcoming, supportive environment. My goal is to help athletes feel comfortable in the gym, learn proper technique, and understand why they're training, not just what to do.

Programs are individualized based on each athlete's sport, position, training experience, and goals. Whether she's a cheerleader, volleyball player, soccer player, basketball player, or competes in another sport, training focuses on developing strength, power, balance, coordination, and resilience while addressing movement quality and injury prevention.

Just as importantly, I want every athlete to leave feeling more confident in herself. The gym can feel intimidating, especially for young women. My coaching creates a positive environment where athletes can ask questions, learn proper lifting techniques, build self-confidence, and develop a healthy relationship with exercise.

Training may include:

  • Individualized strength programming

  • Proper lifting technique and gym education

  • Speed, power, and athletic development

  • Injury prevention and movement quality

  • Mobility and recovery strategies

  • Age-appropriate nutrition education to support performance and recovery

  • Small group coaching with individualized programming

Whether your daughter is hoping to make varsity, improve her performance, stay healthy throughout her season, or simply become stronger and more confident, Lumen provides the education and coaching to help her succeed, both in sport and beyond.
